Skirmish In The 'Nam is a forthcoming set of wargaming rules for 25mm Vietnam War skirmish gaming. Publication is anticipated at or around year end 2001.
Skirmish In The 'Nam is based upon, but greatly expands, the popular American Civil War skirmish rules Brother Against Brother (published by HG Walls).
The design goal for Skirmish In the 'Nam is simplicity of mechanics and rapidity of play. As in Brother Against Brother, the intent is to capture the feel of skirmish combat in the period while avoiding the drudgery and sluggishness of a down-to-every-last-detail simulation.
Skirmish In The 'Nam will incorporate rules covering helicopters and APCs, artillery and air support, mines and boobytraps, hidden movement and concealed objects, multi-table play and much more. It will also provide information on making suitable terrain, as well as a bibliography to aid in locating reference material on the Vietnam conflict.
Skirmish In The 'Nam is being written by Stan Kubiak (Aerodrome 1.1 WW1 and Aerodrome II WW2 air combat rulesets). It will be published by The London War Room, who manufacture and market a superb line of 25mm Vietnam War figures.
